HelioJET Interior Tank Washing Systems

Make 300 psi Wash Water Using 125 psi Steam & 60°F Water

Efficient interior tank & tote washing for maintaining hygiene, reducing downtime, and ensuring product quality. HelioJET® delivers a powerful, reliable solution by combining your existing plant steam and cold water supplies to produce high-pressure hot water on demand — without mechanical pumps or heat exchangers.

The HelioJET interior tank and tote washing system uses the innovative HelioPAC™ Pressure-Amplifier-Condenser paired with a high-performance Rotary Tank Washer. This combination delivers 300 psi at 185°F, creating powerful scouring jets that remove tough deposits quickly and thoroughly.  The average tank cleaning process is less than 15 minutes.

Ideal for industries such as food processing, chemicals, paper manufacturing, totes, industrial oils and pharmaceuticals, HelioJET tank cleaning systems offer up to 99% energy efficiency, minimal maintenance, and fast cleaning cycles — often completing a full interior clean in approximately 15 minutes.

In this guide, learn how the HelioJET system works, its key components, technical specifications, benefits, and why it outperforms traditional tank cleaning methods.

HelioJET® Interior Tank Washing is an advanced industrial cleaning system designed to clean the inside of process tanks, vessels, and reactors using high-pressure hot water jets. Unlike conventional systems that rely on electric pumps or separate boilers, HelioJET leverages your plant’s existing 125 psi steam and 60 psi cold water to instantly generate high-pressure hot water directly at the point of use.

The system is compact, has no moving parts in the pressure-generating unit, and delivers consistent, powerful cleaning performance with very low maintenance.

  1. Steam and Cold Water Input — Supply the HelioPAC™ with standard plant steam (125 psi) and cold water (60 psi).
  2. Instant Pressure & Heat Amplification — The HelioPAC™ acts as a Pressure-Amplifier-Condenser, instantly converting the inputs into 300 psi at 185°F high-pressure hot water.
  3. Delivery to Rotary Tank Washer — The hot water is piped directly to the rotary tank washer inserted into the tank.
  4. Powerful 2-Axis Cleaning — The washer rotates on two axes simultaneously, directing high-impact jet streams against the tank walls. With each rotation, the impact centerline advances slightly, ensuring 360° coverage and thorough removal of stubborn residues.
  5. Fast Cycle Time — Most tanks achieve a complete clean in about 15 minutes (multiple cycles may be needed for extremely heavy buildup).

This scouring action effectively removes deposits, residues, and contaminants without harsh chemicals in many cases (He-Chem™ cleaners can be added when required).

HelioPAC™ (Pressure – Amplifier – Condenser)

  • No moving parts for maximum reliability
  • Manually operated (can be automated for push-button or remote control)
  • Compact design available in capacities up to 120 GPM
  • Eliminates the need for mechanical pumps and conventional heat exchangers

Rotary Tank Washer

  • Travels on two axes for complete interior coverage
  • Delivers powerful, focused jet streams
  • Designed for fast, repeatable cleaning cycles

Interior Tank Washing Starter Kit

The recommended starting point for most plants. This custom-tailored kit includes:

  • HelioPAC™ unit
  • Rotary Tank Washer
  • Remote Gauge Panel (monitors steam/water supply pressure and discharge temperature/pressure)

HelioJET technical staff configures the kit to match your specific tank sizes, deposit types, and operating conditions. Pairing with He-Chem™ chemical cleaners is available for the toughest residues.

  • Input Requirements: 125 psi steam + 60 psi cold water
  • Output: 300 psi at 185°F
  • Flow Capacity: Up to 120 GPM (depending on model)
  • Typical Cleaning Cycle: ~15 minutes per tank
  • Energy Efficiency: Up to 99%
  • Maintenance: Extremely low (no pumps or heat exchangers to service)
  • Faster Cleaning — Remove tough deposits in minutes instead of hours
  • Energy & Cost Savings — Uses existing plant utilities with near-100% efficiency
  • Lower Maintenance — No moving parts in the core unit means fewer breakdowns
  • Improved Safety & Hygiene — Hot water + optional chemicals reduce manual entry into tanks
  • Versatile — Scalable from single tanks to integrated plant systems
  • Environmentally Friendlier — Reduced chemical usage and energy consumption

HelioJET interior tank washing systems excel in:

  • Tote Cleaning
  • Food and beverage processing tanks
  • Chemical storage and reaction vessels
  • Paper mill process tanks and chests
  • Pharmaceutical mixing and holding tanks
  • Any application requiring thorough removal of sticky, oily, or baked-on residues

Traditional high-pressure pumps and separate hot water systems require significant electrical power, regular maintenance, and take up more space. HelioJET’s pump-less design delivers superior performance using only your existing steam and water lines — resulting in lower operating costs, higher reliability, and simpler installation.

Frequently Asked Questions About HelioJET® Interior Tank Washing Systems

The HelioJET® Interior Tank Washing System is an advanced industrial cleaning solution that generates high-pressure hot water on demand using only your existing plant steam and cold water supplies. It combines the HelioPAC™ Pressure-Amplifier-Condenser with a rotary tank washer to deliver powerful 360° scouring action for fast and thorough cleaning of tank interiors.

Plant steam (typically 125 psi) and cold water (typically 60 psi) are fed into the HelioPAC™ unit. The HelioPAC instantly amplifies the pressure and heats the water to produce 300 psi at 185°F high-pressure hot water. This is piped directly to the rotary tank washer, which rotates on two axes to direct powerful jet streams against all interior tank surfaces. The impact centerline advances with each rotation, ensuring complete coverage and effective removal of tough deposits.

The core components are:

  • HelioPAC™ – The compact, no-moving-parts unit that generates high-pressure hot water.
  • Rotary Tank Washer – Delivers the high-impact jets while rotating on two axes for full coverage.
  • Remote Gauge Panel – Monitors steam/water supply pressure and discharge temperature/pressure. An optional Interior Tank Washing Starter Kit includes all three components, custom-configured for your tanks.

Using standard plant utilities (125 psi steam and 60 psi cold water), the system typically delivers 300 psi at 185°F. Flow capacities are available up to 120 GPM, depending on the model selected.

Most tanks achieve a thorough clean in approximately 15 minutes per cycle. Extremely heavy or baked-on deposits may require multiple cycles. This is significantly faster than many traditional tank cleaning methods.

No. The HelioPAC™ has no moving parts, eliminating the need for mechanical pumps, electric motors, or conventional heat exchangers. It operates entirely using your existing plant steam and cold water, making it highly reliable and energy-efficient (up to 99% efficiency).

HelioJET is ideal for food and beverage processing, chemical manufacturing, paper and pulp, pharmaceuticals, and any industry with process tanks, vessels, or reactors that accumulate sticky, oily, or stubborn residues.

Yes. While the high-pressure hot water often cleans effectively on its own, He-Chem™ chemical cleaners can be added when needed for the most challenging residues. The system is designed to work with or without chemicals.

Very low maintenance. Because the HelioPAC™ has no moving parts, there are fewer components to service compared to traditional pump-based systems. Routine checks of gauges and connections are typically all that’s required.

The standard system is manually operated, but it can easily be configured for push-button or remote automated operation to fit seamlessly into your plant’s processes.

The Starter Kit includes a HelioPAC™ unit, a rotary tank washer, and a remote gauge panel. HelioJET technical staff custom-tailors the kit to your specific tank sizes, deposit types, and operating conditions for optimal performance.
